We are a tireless, dedicated merry band of Thoreau Farm trustees who understands we cannot do it alone. What are our actual plans for this year? We will be sponsoring educational programs, guided tours, a book comprised of reflective essays by Henry followers, authors’ talks, historical presentations and much more. This is where it all started, within the walls of what we refer to as “the birth room” (now redesigned as a writer’s retreat), or, perhaps just as accurately, “the birthplace of ideas.” It is right here, on the second floor of our farmhouse, on a summer day in 1817, where Henry was born.
